After flaunting its premium category smartphone-the LG G5 at
MWC 16, LG has now released two devices in the budget category, namely K7 and
K10. These mobile phones are the first
smartphones by LG to be “Made in India” and will support LTE connectivity.
The latest smartphones LG K7 and LG K10 have been priced at INR 9,500 and INR 13,500
respectively. The company boasts that in spite of the modest price tag, the K
series phones will have great camera specs and other ‘premium UX’ features that
are associated with top-league devices. For example both the devices sport a 2.5D curved glass
design and also support Gesture shot, Tap and Shot and Gesture Interval shot
functions to help to capture images.
The K7 LTE is the more humbler of the two and sports a 5
inch FWGA screen with an 854*480 pixel resolution. It is powered by a quad-core
processor clocking at 1.1GHz alongside a 1.5 GB RAM and has an internal storage
capacity of 8GB. Its unique as is has a 5MP camera module for both the rear and
front units. A decent 2125mAh battery drives the device to perform throughout
the day. For its software, it has the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. It is a good
looking phone measuring 143.6x72.5x8.9mm and has 3 color variants of Titan, Gold
and White.
The LG K10 LTE on the other hand is bigger but sleeker than
K7. It measures 146.6x74.8x8.8mm and has a 5.3 inch HD screen with a resolution
of 1280*720 pixels. It runs the Lollipop version software and has a 1.2GHz quad
core Snapdragon 410 processor with a 2GB RAM. The internal memory is 16GB and
fuelling the device is a 2300mAh battery. A 13MP rear camera and 5MP front
camera gives great pictures and videos. You can have the K10 in three colors-
White, Gold and Indigo.
So as you can see the difference in the price is due to
better specs and features for the K10. The LG 10 has a sleek design, good
material body, great display and a long battery life but it lacks a USB OTG and
performs moderately well for a pricing of INR 13,900. The K7 although smaller
and has just average features, offers more value for money. So which one would
you pick given a choice? Let us know in the comments below.
