Google is no stranger to technology and is
a company and brand that thrives on innovation. Despite rolling out some of the
most successful apps, features and devices in recent times, besides the most
widely used phone software in the world, Google is also working to improve
users’ experience with all of these and more. After successfully launching many
apps which made it to the latest mobile phone news, one of the key features of the Android software is the Maps
app. Google Maps proved to be one of the most successful and widely used
navigation apps in the world. After its tremendous success, Google worked to
improve its use and ease by making it more familiar than ever before. This is
when the idea of the street views came into being, allowing people to immediately
view exactly what their destination street looks like.
Now, Google has released a special update
that improves street views tremendously. The update for Street View for Maps
application is essentially an update of the basic Maps app. However, this app
on iOS is far more improved and helps to allow users to take photo sphere
pictures, due to their inaccessibility to Google Camera feature on Android
devices.
Google worked hard to make a detailed
database of all the street views over several months. They went about it
manually as there was no other way immediately possible. This is where Google’s
famous, or rather infamous, van with the huge mounted camera roamed streets,
capturing different street views came into being.
For people looking to immediately make use
of this update which is headlining the latest
mobile phone news, they’ll need to hold their horses, as the rollout has
just begun and may not reach everyone in time. It is an incremental rollout and
due to the facility already being available to Android users anyway, Google
isn’t exactly treating it as a priority issue of any sorts. However, in the
end, once this update does come along, it is sure to make street views much
more detailed and helpful.
