There are few phones that really manage to
make an impression like the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge did. This was not just your
regular flagship phone, it was a phone that came with a breakthrough technology
and a super stylish look. People flocked in hoards to get their hands on the
limited edition Edge, with even current status of the device being that demand
far outweighs supply. This kind of special treatment isn’t meted out to every new launch. Mobile phones often get
released among much fan fare but then go unnoticed and unheard of.
Sony is yet to achieve the kind of status
that Samsung has managed to achieve with its flagship Galaxy S series. Although
Sony’s Xperia series has met moderate success, it yet has to achieve the kind
of fame that other leading devices enjoy. The competition has only heated up
and even brands such as HTC, Asus and Huawei are coming forward with luxury
flagships that aim to challenge bigwigs. However, Sony may have finally struck
gold with its new launch. Mobile phones makers
the world over are paying close attention to the newly released Sony Xperia Z5
Premium.
For starters, the first impression itself
is set to change the game for this handset. The display of the Xperia Z5
Premium is a first of its kind, as it sports a 4K screen that spans 5.5 inches.
The absolutely stunning display manages to put all other displays to shame. Whether
it’s the brightness, crispness or sheer clarity that you’re looking for, the
Xperia Z5 Premium packs it in and then some more. Sony always had the advantage
of the 4K technology with their television sets and now, they’re finally
applying it to their flagship smartphone too. Another major area where many
smartphones fail is a winning point for the Z5 Premium. This device boasts of a
five day battery life, with a huge 3430 mAh battery powering the device.
The USP of this device though is set to be
its camera, which is a 23 MP sensor, beating out the new Moto X Style’s 21 MP
clicker. This camera also comes with the world’s fastest 0.03 second shutter
speed, a feat that should delight people fed up of capturing blurry shots with
their flagship devices. There are also several other high end features that
make this a phone that Sony can finally boast about.
With the Xperia Z5 Premium, clearly Sony is
looking to re-enter the flagship market with a bang. Several flagships this
season have managed to create waves, right from the much anticipated Note 5 to
the Galaxy S6 Edge+. Last year’s Xperia Z4 series failed to make any kind of an
impact and so, Sony really had to pull up its socks and re-think its strategy
on flagships. Hopefully, with the unique set of super high end specs, the
Xperia Z5 Premium may just be the handset Sony’s been waiting for.
