Why Apple Still Rules the Smartphone Market

Apple has been around for ages now and the vision of Steve Jobs continues even after his passing away. Even after so many years and so many criticisms and controversies, Apple continues to stay at the top and enjoys being the number one smartphone maker in the world. Also, despite all the hate heaped on Apple by Android fans and loyalists, it is surprising to see that according to handheldnews sources, Apple’s position remains unchallenged in the smartphone market.

There are many reasons why Apple is still the dominating player in the uneven playing field that is the smartphone manufacturing business. So, what is it that makes Apple stand out and be such a force to reckon with?
·         For starters, the brand name of Apple is enough for most people. Several buyers have become such patrons of this brand, that they do not really care about whether or not the device comes with the latest smartphone specifications or not. These are die hard Apple loyalists, who will not give up the iOS experience in favour of Android, no matter what.

Apple users always stated that the screen the size of a credit card was actually enough for basic use of a smartphone. While the world was embracing bigger screens and even phablets started doing the rounds, Apple fans remained stubborn and loyal to the relatively tinier sized phones. However, Apple realised that bigger screens aren’t a fad but a reality and finally, after much deliberation, there was a huge deviation from Apple’s usual design, as it launched the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, to great success.

·         Apple is a brand that doesn’t rely on just one product to bring in sales and profits. This is a brand that has three star products, all of which have their own market and customer base. The initial craze of the iPod is what spurred on the fascination with iPhones and the eventual design of the iPad is what made it one of the best tablets around. In other words, rather than relying on sales of just the iPhone, according to handheld news, even the iPad and the iPods bring in tons of revenue for the California based company.

Thus, Apple isn’t interested in putting all its apples in one basket but instead, strives for having back up plans all the time. Although the Apple Watch did not come close to registering worthwhile sales, thanks to its ridiculous price tag and lack of innovative features.

So, these are just a few of the reasons why, as Apple says, if you don’t have an iPhone, then you don’t have an iPhone. Coming out with a phone that sports the latestsmartphone specifications is something that Apple is used to, and is what people expect from it anyway. So, unless something goes terribly wrong in the future, it looks like Apple is set to continue ruling the smartphone and gadget industry like no other brand.
